Silverton Moose Stories

  • Grand Imperial Hotel (basement) 1219 Greene Street Silverton, CO, 81433 United States (map)

Join Silverton author and wildlife photographer Wesley Berg as he shares stories and images from his book “Silverton Moose Stories”. Learn about the moose twins Linus and Lucy, who were orphaned at just over one month old when their mother was hit and killed on the highway. Born near the small mountain town of Silverton in the San Juan Mountains of southwest Colorado, they were unofficially adopted by the local residents and were a regular sight in town in the fall of 2021. Linus and Lucy were never far apart, relying on each other as they struggled to survive their first winter without a mother to guide and protect them. He will also share stories and images about moose calves growing up, the rut or mating season, cows moose giving birth, bulls growing and shedding their antlers, and surviving the winter in the high San Juans!

Cost: Free

Notes: Unfortunately, there is no handicap access to this venue
