Local Opener: Half Bandit

Half Bandit is a surfy psychy Southwestern band telling stories of hope and despair through waves of reverb and Bossa Nova progressions. The band is led by Julian Marcos Hood on guitar and vocal, backed up by Jon Bailey on drums and often joined by a collective of musicians and storytellers. They aim to transport like an old radio on a space station to a sun drenched island where you swim until dark and tell ghost stories over a big fire as the milky way comes into view.

At the core of their work is a message—uplifting culture, honoring ancestry, and speaking to issues that matter, from identity and equity to belonging and community resilience. Their music creates space for both celebration and reflection, inviting audiences to connect beyond the beat.

HEAVY DIAMOND RING

FOLK ROCK & AMERICANA

Some musical partnerships are built to last—and Heavy Diamond Ring is a testament to that kind of creative longevity. Nineteen years after founding indie-folk mainstay Paper Bird, vocalist Sarah Anderson and songwriter/guitarist Paul DeHaven continue their collaboration with a sound rooted in open-hearted All-American folk-rock. Their creative partnership—shaped over decades—brings a depth and ease that can only come from years of making music together.

Led by Anderson’s smooth-as-honey vocals and DeHaven’s rugged guitar chops, Heavy Diamond Ring delivers what’s been described as “open-road, long drive music, with a little bit of twang and a whole lot of beef.” Backed by Blake Stepan (bass), Mike Lang (keys), and Orion Tate Ignezi (drums), the band creates a rich, harmony-driven sound that feels both expansive and grounded.

On stage, that chemistry is undeniable. Their live shows are infectious and contagious, inviting audiences to settle in, turn it up, and enjoy the ride.
